Obsession: British Pop

I don't know what it is, but lately American music has been getting on my nerves. It bores me easily (does this past summer's Stanky Leg ring a bell?) and makes me wish that there was something that could sustain my attention for longer than three days. So, I started looking for new music...and ended up in England. It was easy since they speak English and all and are almost made up like the United States. I don't think they make better music, I just think they give more diverse artists a chance at making it. They don't throw out insipid dance songs just to make a quick buck (I'm not saying they don't, I'm just saying they keep it to themselves, lol.) Here are my favorite UK artists:

1. James Morrison- Songs For You, Truths For Me
Sound: Soulful, guitar driven Pop

Highlight: Broken Strings feat. Nelly Furtado

2. The Saturdays-Wordshaker
Sound: New Millenium Pop/R&B ish

Highlight: Ego

3.VV Brown-Travellin Like The Light
Sound: More Rock sounding 60's pop/doo wop

Highlight: Game Over

4. The Noisettes- Young Wild Hearts
Sound:Throwback rock/pop with a dash of fifties girlband

Highlight: Never Forget You

5. Paloma Faith-Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful?
Sound: Amy Winehouse/Duffy blend plus drama, drama, drama

Highlight: New York

6.Bryn Christopher-My World
Sound: Sam Cooke/Marvin Gaye esque R&B from the 60's/70's made new

Highlight: The Quest

7.Mr. Hudson- Straight, No Chaser
Sound: Electronic Pop with a dash of Hip Hop

Highlight: Supernova feat. Kanye West

8.Sugababes- Sweet 7
Sound: Pop/R&B with a more commercial edge, their old music is dance/pop with a gritty edge

Highlight: Get Sexy (with original member Keisha. They a mess lol)
